To each his or her own when it comes to fishing footwear. You might prefer sandals, or you might need heavy-duty deck boots. Here are some of the new options available to anglers from manufacturers at the 2017 ICAST fishing tackle trade show. Some of the shoes are out now; others will be available later this year or early next.
Columbia Megavent II PFG
Designed with the professional angler in mind, the Columbia Megavent II PFG shoe comes with a proprietary outsole design, water ventilation combined with quick dry materials and ultimate underfoot comfort. It features a techlite midsole, superior cushion, high-energy return and lower durometer EVA for the ultimate in comfort and shock absorbency, air-flow and water drainable midsole ports. Grundéns Deck Boss Boot
These new waterproof fishing boots feature one-piece, injection-molded construction to eliminate delamination and cracking. A 1-inch groove holds a durable silicone band that helps keep your legs dry, and the 15-inch height can be lowered with a flexible upper that folds down.

Huk’s new Attack Shoes, the winner of the Fishing Footwear category in the 2017 New Products Showcase, features appealing traction, bullet-proof durability and the comfort and support needed by anglers. Performance lacing and a Kryptek camouflage design are additional features.

Simms Challenger Pull-On Boot
Simms’ Challenger Pull-On Boots feature an integrated rubber heel, rubber overlays in key wear areas, a 14-inch fold-down shaft and a vulcanized rubber and neoprene upper. The fishing boots will be released in Spring 2018.
