One word describes the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: Big! With multiple venues, hundreds of exhibits, and more boats, motors, electronics and accessories than you can imagine, this show can be overwhelming. But if you’re looking to live large, this is the show for you. The 2023 show did not disappoint. Here are some of the big products for boating anglers I saw at FLIBS this year.

Formula 457 FISH

Formula Boats staged a huge announcement at FLIBS. It introduced a big new center-console: the Formula 457 Fish. The company presented a detailed scale model of the new boat, and the real thing will be at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2024.

“Built to your preference, from hardcore fishing to upscale sport cruising, or a little of both, the 457 will match your boating style,” Formula’s Scott Porter announced. “Opt for foldaway aft seating and pressurized bait wells, plus the bait station and fully appointed tower command for a fishing battlewagon. We will build a boat to suit your wants and needs.”

At 47 feet, 7 inches in length with a beam of 13 feet, 9 inches, the 457 will boast a 700-gallon fuel capacity and up to three Mercury Verado 600-hp V-12 outboards. Two rows of helm seating will accommodate eight crew members in comfort. Speaking of comfort, a fully appointed cabin will make long cruises and overnighting at the islands a genuine pleasure.

Grady-White Canyon 386

Grady-White Boats always seems to make big news at FLIBS, and this year was even more spectacular with the debut of the Canyon 386 center console. Mirroring the best design elements of the Grady-White flagship model, the Canyon 456, the 386 offers an immense amount of deck space.

“You’ll find no other boats of its class with the magnitude of square footage that we’ve been able to create in our design process,” said Grady-White Product Designer Christian Carraway. “With an eye toward fishability and luxury, we’ve crafted a boat that’s both rugged and refined.”

With a length of 36½ feet and beam of 13 feet, 2 inches, the Canyon 386 features four luxurious helm seats and a spacious, fully appointed cabin accessed from a sliding door on the helm deck. The roomy cockpit has side doors on both sides, dual 35-gallon transom livewells, and a 291-quart insulated refrigerator/freezer fish box with a digitally controlled thermostat. A fold-away transom bench seat offers extra seating, but tucks away quickly when the angling action heats up.

On the forward console is an inviting lounger and posh seating in the bow. The updated engine area eliminates the traditional motor well and supports triple Yamaha XTO Offshore 450-hp outboards, now available in classic white to perfectly match the iconic Grady-White gelcoat.   

Aquila 47 Molokai

The ranks of big offshore-capable power catamarans welcome a new member at FLIBS: the Aquila 47 Molokai. The double-step 45-foot, 8-inch-long cat hull features carbon-fiber forward and aft main bulkheads to create the structural strength required for up to four powerful 400-hp outboards. High tunnel clearance creates an air cushion and reduces hull noise when trolling. The deck level offers 360 degrees of walk-around space, and the forward platform grants elevation when cast-netting for bait to fill the twin 42.5-gallon transom pressurized livewells. There are 180 gallons of in-sole fish-box capacity and two 74-gallon forward coffin boxes.

Port and starboard side doors ease boarding of crew and big fish. A console sliding door at the helm offers access to the cabin boasting a queen berth and an enclosed head with a shower for cruising and overnighting. Expansive hull-side windows provide cabin illumination. The hardtop integrates stylishly with the full-height windshield, protecting two rows of helm seating for up to seven crew members.

Garmin GPSMAP 9000 Series

Talk about big! Garmin’s new GPSMAP 9000 chartplotter series is available with 19-, 22-, 24- or 27-inch touchscreen displays. The multifunction displays (MFDs) boast stunning 4K resolution with edge-to-edge clarity, and are powered by a processor that’s seven-times faster than previous generations. They also feature the new Garmin BlueNet gigabit network for comprehensive, high-speed connectivity throughout the boat with sensors and other networked devices.

Each new MFD can be flat or flush mounted, and offer in-plane switching (IPS) touchscreen displays that can be seen from all viewing angles, even with polarized sunglasses. The GPSMAP 9219, 9222, 9224 and 9227 come preloaded with Garmin Navionics+ mapping that includes Auto Guidance+ technology for faster and more detailed route calculations.

ICOM IC-M510BB Black-Box VHF

ICOM’s new IC-M510BB represents the latest in VHF technology, letting you expand your VHF accessibility throughout the boat. All operations, including DSC, can be made from the CommandMic allowing the VHF radio unit to be installed in an out-of-sight place and as far as 60 feet from the CommandMic. Up to three of the CommandMics can be connected to the IC-M510BB, which allows it to double as an onboard intercom system on large boats. NMEA 2000 networking capabilities provide plug-and-play data communication with other electronics such as an MFDs. The radio can also share GNSS (GPS) position, AIS, and DSC calls with other onboard equipment. The unit has a last-call voice recording function that automatically saves up to two minutes of a recent incoming call. A built-in 15-watt amplifier increases the audio output to an external hailer speaker, and there’s built-in hailer function that also sounds foghorn patterns.

As we combed the docks at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center and the displays at the Broward County Convention Center, we found these 10 new center console and dual console boat models. (Note: Though some of these display models appear to showcase fewer fishing features, they can be customized for an angler’s needs.)

Albemarle 30 Express

Featuring 64 square feet of cockpit space, this express boat gives anglers plenty of room to work lines and fight fish. The transom features a 30-gallon livewell, and two 56-gallon fish boxes reside in the cockpit sole.

The 30 carries 320 gallons of fuel and comes with two berths for longer, overnight trips.

Options include a pressurized washdown faucet/transom shower, and a bow filler and casting platform.

Contender 44 CB

Inspired by the Northeast’s diehard anglers, Contender’s new 44 Canyon Berth combines fishability with speed and performance. It can carry outboards producing as much as 2,000 hp and features a console berth for overnighting.

Capable of carrying 600 gallons of fuel, the 44 CB can be customized to meet an angler’s needs.

Everglades 455cc

Built in cooperation with Garmin engineers, the big beamy fish boat features a proprietary digital helm system that includes three 22-inch displays. Everglades also says its 455cc delivers a competition-inspired deck design that promotes tournament success.

Intrepid 427 Nomad FE

Intrepid says its new 427 Nomad FE and its stepped-hull design offer performance, comfort and versatility. The 42-footer accommodates twin, triple or quad outboards and can be customized to add fishing features such as livewells and a tackle station.

Pursuit S 358

Filling a niche between Pursuit’s S 328 and S 378 models, the new S 358 features fishing amenities such as 12 flush-mount rod holders, padded horizontal rod racks, a tackle center, a 32-gallon livewell and twin 27-gallon fish boxes, as well as generous seating and a cabin with a berth and an enclosed head compartment.

Twin Yamaha 425 XTOs propel this boat to speeds topping 51 mph. At cruise, the S 358 delivers 1.06 mpg.

Anglers can also choose from three leaning-post options and add additional rod holders.

With the twin diesels, this boat gains extended range — up to 490 miles with the standard 444-gallon tank. The 415CS package includes Volvo Penta interceptors and active ride control as well as automatic trim and list.

While this boat immediately appeals to family cruisers, it also comes with plenty of fishing options including a 60-gallon livewell and three fish boxes.

The 40-footer can be equipped with multiple fishing options such as a 60-gallon aquarium livewell or a below-deck 80-gallon well, oversize fish boxes, outriggers or a hard-top rocket launcher. In addition, numerous transom modules are available with bait-prep areas and smaller livewells.

For whatever reason, this year’s fabulous Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show seemed to me to include an unprecedented number of new-boat introductions, at least in the size of the type that Sport Fishing fans would likely have an interest in. Many of the 31 boats shown here are either brand new at the show or new this year, though I couldn’t help including a couple of merely recent models. Except for each opening running shot, all photos were taken at the show. As should be evident, the boats are listed alphabetically (by manufacturer).

Raymarine ClearCruise AR

Raymarine’s new ClearCruise Augmented Reality technology delivers enhanced on-water awareness to the company’s Axiom multifunction displays. The system overlays navigational information onto stabilized video from a CAM210 HD marine camera. Nav markers, AIS traffic, objects and waypoints appear in text blocks over the moving video. The camera costs $699.99 and is generally mounted facing forward on a hard-top; the AR200 stabilization module costs $499.99.

Simrad Information Display

Navico, parent company of Simrad, Lowrance and B&G brands, has launched what it calls a brand new category of marine technology — the information display (ID). IDs combine a sleek design with a configurable interface to simplify monitoring and control of onboard systems. Pre-defined modes include System Checks, Cruising, Anchoring and Water Sports. Custom modes can also be easily configured to builder specifications to best accentuate the utility of an individual vessel or to complement any boater’s passions such as tournament or sport fishing.

The ID comprises bonded-glass displays and a powerful integration hub, which will be available with a choice of Simrad, Lowrance, or B&G electronics. Each solution includes one or multiple displays bridged together to function as one integrated system. The centralized hub uses Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity along with Sonar, USB, CAN and NMEA 2000 ports to connect to all onboard systems. The pictured ID shows a remote control element on the vessel’s steering wheel. IDs will be available to boat builders in 2019.

Fusion ARX70 ANT Wireless Stereo Remote

Fusion’s ARX70 ANT Wireless Stereo Remote gives anglers the freedom to control their ANT-enabled marine entertainment system from anywhere on the boat. The compact, low-profile design, IPX7 water-resistant design allows it to be installed on any flat surface, without cutting holes or running wires. Simply place, pair and play. The ARX70 features a 1-year battery life. Available in January, the remote will cost $59.99.

Fusion XS Series Speakers

Available in three sizes (4-, 6.5- and 7.7-inch), the new Fusion XS Series speakers combine optimized drivers with separate tweeters to produce a full range of audio reproduction that consistently delivers high quality audio at all volume levels. The new aesthetic design features an innovative translucent cone to provide bright LED illumination on board in a range of colors. The low-profile grilles offer a sleeker design in Sports style (pictured) or Classic style that let users match the look of their vessel.

SiOnyx Aurora Night Vision Camera

SiOnyx, an infrared-imaging-technology company, has launched the Aurora HD action video camera with day and night color imaging. SiOnyx Aurora weighs just under 8 ounces and fits comfortably in one hand. SiOnyx has developed a new semiconductor process that dramatically enhances the infrared sensitivity of silicon-based imaging. Its ultra low-light technology enables richly-defined color images and video during the day and twilight, combined with unmatched high-resolution viewing in near total darkness. Through the free companion apps on iOS and Android systems, you can review your experiences in real-time or control the Aurora directly from your phone. Aurora also carries an IP67 waterproof rating. The camera costs $799.

Furuno TZtouch2 Black Box

Furuno’s TZtouch2 black-box module (TZT2BB) can drive two separate touchscreen displays such as Furuno’s 17-, 19- or 24-inch multitouch screens. It supports full-HD-video input in HDMI format, easily interfacing with high-resolution cameras, sonars or entertainment systems. The TZT2BB networks with Furuno radar, instruments and other sensors. It offers a built-in, dual-frequency fish finder with RezBoost. Add-on options include the DFF3D multibeam sonar and DFF1-UHD Tru-Echo chirp fish finder. The unit costs $5,595.

Garmin 8600xsv 10-, 12- and 16-inch MFDs

Garmin has announced the GPSMAP 8600/8600xsv series, an extension of its flagship GPSMAP 8600 series, bringing premium features like built-in sonar and new BlueChart g3 coastal cartography with Navionics integration, and built-in Auto Guidance to smaller, more affordable display options. Available in 10-, 12- and 16-inch units that feature full HD in-plane switching (IPS) screens with multitouch control, the GPSMAP 8600/8600xsv series is Wi-Fi enabled and offers full connectivity and networkability so mariners can completely customize their marine electronics system based on their needs and preferences. Available in 2019, prices range from $2,499.99 to $5,999.99.

Garmin Reactor Autopilot Remote

The water-resistant Garmin Reactor Autopilot Remote boasts a sunlight-readable color display, a comfortable ergonomic design and programmable presets for quick access to favorite functions. The remote lets users control steering with gesture controls for heading hold and course corrections: Simply point the remote in the desired course direction. Because of the unit’s 45-foot range, the captain is free to move about the deck. The remote, which floats if dropped overboard, comes with a cradle and wrist and neck lanyards and is expected to be available late this year. It costs $249.99.

ICOM IC-M85

ICOM’s tiny IC-M85 measures 2.2-by-3.6-by-1.1 inches and weighs 8.7 ounces. In addition to VHF marine channels, the IC-M85 covers 136 to 174 MHz land mobile channels. It delivers 700 mW of loud audio and has a built-in Voice Scrambler, providing private communication between stations. The IC-M85 features three emergency-related functions: the MOB Alarm, Man Down and Lone Worker functions. If one of these functions is activated, the radio automatically makes an emergency alarm. The radio costs $299.99.

ICOM IC-M330

With its palm-sized compact body — 6.2-by-2.6-by-4.3 inches — the IC-M330 can be installed in tight locations. A new speaker design delivers dynamic and clear sound over a wide bass and treble range. The radio monitors channel 70 continuously, even while you’re receiving another channel. DSC functions include distress, individual, group, all ships, urgency, safety, position request/report, polling request and DSC test calls. A combination of the directional keypad and soft keys provides simple. Most-used functions are assigned to soft keys for quick one-push function access. The radio costs $159.99; an available built-in-GPS model costs $179.95.

Lowrance HDS Live

Lowrance has announced its new HDS Live real-time sonar/chart plotters with Active Imaging, available with chirp, side- and down-imaging technologies. The new system enhances FishReveal with higher-level clarity and target separation. The units deliver LiveSight sonar for extra-detailed views in real time. Mount the transducer facing forward to cast toward fish or mount it facing down for vertical jigging. HDS Live also comes with Genesis Live Charting for creating real-time custom maps and LiveCast smartphone integration so anglers can display fishing information and entertainment from their smartphones on Live’s 12- or 16-inch displays (7- and 9-inch screen sizes are also available). HDS Live ranges in price from $949 to $4,499. Active Imaging can be purchased with HDS Live or as an accessory for $299. The LiveSight transducer will cost $999 (available in 2019).

Raymarine LightHouse Apps

Available as part of Raymarine’s LightHouse 3 Operating System, LightHouse Apps brings select Android-compatible mobile apps and third-party marine apps to Raymarine’s Axiom multifunction displays. Raymarine users can now use Axiom to stream onboard entertainment from popular movie and music streaming services. LightHouse Apps also brings access to the Theyr GRIB global weather forecast and tide apps. With this launch, Raymarine is making it easy for marine manufacturers, app developers and technology providers to integrate with Axiom and the LightHouse 3 OS. Current available apps include mazu, Seakeeper, Theyr, Netflix, Spotify and Lumishore.

Simrad Halo24 Radar

Simrad’s Halo24 combines the company’s proven performance and reliability with the advantages of cutting-edge pulse-compression technology, a new profile and lightweight design. Boasting 60 rpm high-speed rotation at distances up to 2 nautical miles, an industry first, this 24-inch dome radar improves safety and performance. The fast refresh rate complements high-speed and short-range tracking. Capable of high-quality short-, mid-, and long-range detection up to 48 nautical miles, Halo24 processes multiple ranges simultaneously. The radar also features Simrad VelocityTrack Doppler technology, which provides visual feedback on the motion of radar targets, color-coding approaching vessels that might become a threat while de-emphasizing diverging targets. Price is $2,699.

FLIR M232

FLIR’s M232 pan-and-tilt camera is one of the company’s smallest and most affordable marine thermal cameras. Featuring a resolution of 320-by-240 pixels, the M232 reveals vessels and obstacles at night. Combine the M232 with a Raymarine Axiom MFD and take advantage of FLIR ClearCruise intelligent thermal analytics. ClearCruise provides audible and visual alerts when “non-water” objects, such as boats, obstacles, or navigation markers, appear in the scene. This enhances boaters’ overall situational awareness, both day and night. The camera costs $3,499.

SiriusXM Marine InfoLink for Furuno TZtouch and TZtouch2

SIriusXM’s fourth-generation BBWX4 weather receiver for Furuno NavNet TZtouch/TZtouch2 units overlays graphical information onto charts so anglers can see weather and information relative to their location. Boaters can also access more than 150 channels of SiriusXM radio with the unit. Coastal and offshore service packages cost $29.99/month or $54.99/month. The weather receiver costs $379; a $100 rebate is available through the end of the year.

The Cox Powertain CXO300 diesel outboard

British-based Cox Powertrain chose the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (Oct. 31-Nov.4) to unveil its much-anticipated 300 hp diesel outboard. Weighing in at 827 pounds, the CXO300 uses a four-stroke V-8 diesel engine architecture and will cost $50,000 retail, according to Cox. A pair of the engines were mounted on a new Intrepid Powerboat 345 Nomad, but were not available to run at the show. Cox plans to stage a series of on-water demonstrations beginning in November 2018 and continuing through spring 2019 on both the east and west coasts of the U.S.

FPT Technologies, a division of Fiat, showed off its new N67 570 EVO marine inboard diesel engine at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The inline six-cylinder diesel produces 570 hp at 3000 rpm and is one of seven diesel inboards offered by FPT for the recreational market.

Honda Marine’s redesigned BF200, BF225 and BF250 outboards were on display at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boats. Integrating sleek new styling, the V-6 outboards also feature streamlined maintenance and an expanded number of rigging options.

John Deere, a name more often associated with trackers and lawn mowers, builds marine engines, as well. John Deere unveiled its newest engine series at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the 4045SFM85 series, offered in 275 to 315 hp. These inline four-cylinder diesel inboards displace 4.5 liters, and feature after-cooled turbochargers and high-pressure common-rail fuel injection. Both iterations are Tier III compliant.

Mercury Marine recent introduced new V-6 and V-8 four-stroke outboards, and a vast number of Merc outboards were on display at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, many of them on the transoms of center-console boats.

Seven Marine showed up in full force at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and its 627 and 557 outboards stole much of the attention. Nearly eclipsed, however, was the new 527 from Seven Marine. The supercharged V-8 powerhead displaces 6.2 liters and delivers 527 hp (hence the model number). It weighs 1094 pounds and is available with in variety of gear ratios.

Suzuki Marine announced newly redesigned 175 and 200 hp outboards at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, but it was the recently introduced flagship of the Suzuki outboard family — the big 350 — that was most prevalent aboard boats and at the Suzuki booth in the convention center.

Volvo Penta’s 6.2-liter gas V-8 at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show came equipped with a new engine-powered cooling and heating system. The engine is also now available with the Volvo’s OceanX Forward Drive sterndrive propulsion system.

Yamaha’s new 425 hp XTO Offshore V-8 outboards had a big presence at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Three and four-engine installations abounded aboard center-console fishing boats, both at the Bahia Mar in-water and convention center venues.

Yanmar introduced a 50 hp diesel outboard featuring an innovative engine technology. The Neander Dtorque Turbo Diesel outboard has a twin-cylinder aluminum powerhead with dual counter-rotating crankshafts. The four-stroke diesel is turbo-charged and weighs 386 pounds.

Some other fishing boats might have made their debut at previous boat shows, but they remain hot commodities within the fishing and boating community. Many also sport updates and redesigned deck elements.

Avenger AV-26 Bay

This 26-foot bay boat features an 89-gallon fuel tank, dual battery switch, deluxe aluminum leaning post, 12-gallon bow livewell and two 27-gallon stern livewells, port and starboard rod lockers, insulated 260-quart forward fish box and insulated 180-quart aft fish box, 96-quart front-step cooler, four flush gunwale rod holders and two aft deck rod holders, and more.

Bahama 41

This versatile 41-foot center console now features an optional Seakeeper gyro system. It comes with 580 gallons of fuel capacity, a 65-gallon freshwater tank and a 60-gallon livewell. Three forward-seating options in the bow, each with a fish box underneath, add to the features of this fishing machine, which can handle up to 1,700 hp.

Bertram 35 Sport Fish

Pulling inspiration from the iconic 31, the Bertram 35 sport fish has been popular since its unveiling in 2016. There is cockpit seating above the two engine boxes where the Caterpillar C7.1 engines are located. The convertible is expected to top 40 knots and the galley has a modern look and offers cook tops as well as refrigerated storage, making it a boat perfect for a weekend getaway.

Carolina Skiff 21 Ultra Elite

Hydraulic steering, a power-grip steering wheel, a console livewell with LED lighting, a 200 hp Suzuki outboard, and a bow table are some of the many features of the Carolina Skiff 21 Ultra Elite.

Contender 39 Fisharound

Sport Fishing reviewed Contender’s new 39 Fisharound earlier this year and the design has proven extremely popular. The 460-gallon fuel tank, 1,600 maximum horsepower, top speed of 68.2 mph and more make this 39-footer a serious offshore machine. Contender placed a pair of 40-gallon livewells in the transom, and the cabin includes a full galley, stand-up shower and air conditioning.

HydraSports Custom 5300 Sueños

The 5300 Sueños has been around for a little while but what’s new, HydraSports Custom’s Alex Leva tells SF is the increasing popularity of its tender model. That’s right: More and more superyacht owners are using this largest production center console boat as a tender for their yachts.

Regulator 31

Sport Fishing reviewed the Regulator 31 center console earlier this year. The 300-gallon fuel tank, twin Yamaha F300 outboards and top speed of 53 mph are some of the features of the boat.

Sea Vee 270Z Bay

Sea Vee’s celebrated 270Z Bay boat sports a brand-new leaning post/tackle station configuration for 2018. The full fiberglass captain’s edition helm unit replaces the original streamlined leaning post. The 270Z also comes with front and rear fish boxes that can be converted into bait wells, an additional bow well, two rod lockers and vertical rod storage in the leaning post for up to 19 rods on the boat. The 270Z offers pop-up seating astern for additional comfort on long runs, and Sea Vee provides three options for power: 300, 350 or 400 hp.

Southport 33 FE (Family Edition)

The Southport 33 FE center console, which is 32 and a half feet long, features four rod holders aft of the helm and twin Suzuki 350 hp outboard engines. The boat also has an insulated console front-seat cooler, an in-deck 75-gallon fish box and the option of an entertainment center behind the console with a sink and electric grill, one of the family-oriented features on this model.

Stamas 392 Tarpon

The 39-foot center console fishing boat from Stamas made its debut at the Miami boat show earlier this year. The Tarpon comes with triple Yamaha 300 hp outboards. It features a 120-quart transom baitwell and two forward fish boxes, each 347 quarts. A gunwale storage box is another feature, plus four under-gunwale rod holders, along with the boat’s 410-gallon fuel capacity and 40-gallon freshwater capacity.

Wellcraft 302 Fisherman

Wellcraft’s 302 Fisherman, a 30-foot center console introduced at the Miami boat show, offers anglers 268 gallons of fuel capacity, nine color options and an array of fishing-first features. A transom folding bench, built-in livewell, T-top with rod holders, extensive casting platforms, captain’s chair and multiple forward storage options are some of the key crowd-pleasers.

World Cat 280CC-X

Still a much-talked-about model, the 280CC-X from World Cat includes twin 89-gallon fish boxes with rod storage and a 30-gallon livewell. The catamaran is 27 and a half feet long, carries 220 gallons of fuel and is available with up to 400 horsepower.

Blackfin 272 Center Console

Blackfin’s 27-foot-2-inch center console offers a full list of appealing standard features, including six pull-up seats and a large anchor storage area with an overboard drain and dedicated stern anchor slot. The boat holds 180 gallons of fuel and 21 gallons of water. Power-assisted steering, a removable bow-seating backrest, four gunwale and three transom rod holders and a Yeti carry-on cooler are a few more of the many appealing aspects of this boat, which can carry twin outboards totaling 600 horsepower.

Boston Whaler 240 Dauntless Pro

Sport Fishing was able to test the new 24-foot boat from Boston Whaler earlier this year. It features a 38-gallon livewell, a 9-inch Raymarine electronics and navigation package for the helm, a stereo system and an integrated tower with a second station that’s part of a redesigned console. The fuel tank can hold up to 90 gallons, and the Pro is powered by a white Mercury 350XL Verado Four-Stroke engine.

Cobia 320 Center Console

The 32-foot center console boat from Cobia on display at the show featured a hard-top design and grey hull color. The boat also specs out with a 275-gallon fuel tank, and can accommodate a Garmin electronics package and twin Yamaha F300XCA outboards.

EdgeWater 370cc

This new center console, just under 37 feet in length, can hold up to 385 gallons of fuel for long fishing trips offshore. A 187-square-foot cockpit area, Garmin electronics package, triple F300 Yamaha engines, wrap-around bow seating with a back rest, an advanced twin-step hull design and more add up to an impressive fishing machine.

Everglades 335cc

Everglades’ new 32-foot center console turned a lot of heads this year. The boat can hold 306 gallons of fuel and comes with a 37-gallon livewell and a 131-square-foot cockpit. As for power, the boat can handle a maximum of 700 hp. Options include SeaStar Optimus 360 joystick steering, removable bow backrests, docking lights, additional cup and rod holders, an underwater camera and more.

Grady-White Freedom 325

The new 32-footer from Grady-White Boats is the next in its Freedom family. The boat includes two bow insulated fish boxes — 180 and 254 quarts — plus a 32-gallon livewell and four rod holders. The fuel tank holds 288 gallons, and the boat’s marine audio system includes two bow speakers and four hardtop speakers.

Intrepid 407 Panacea

The new 40-foot center console from Intrepid Powerboats features a 483-gallon fuel tank, a 60-gallon freshwater tank, a large cabin and an impressive amount of space in the cockpit.

Invincible 40 Cat

Invincible Boats’ new 40-foot multihull offshore boat made its (much-anticipated and slightly veiled) debut in Fort Lauderdale. The company shrouded the hull bottom with fabric so as not to give away all of its secrets. Designed by the multihull architects at Morelli & Melvin, the boat’s fuel tank can hold up to 800 gallons and features a coffin box, zero-degree turning, narrow gunwales for improved fishability and more.

Jupiter 25 Boca Grande

The new Boca Grande version of Jupiter’s 25 Bay — featuring all carbon-fiber construction — measures 26 feet without engines and can hold up to 90 gallons of fuel. Additional features include: teak floor, JL Audio stereo package, Garmin electronics package, and more. The boat’s propulsion comes from a Yamaha F300 four-stroke engine.

Mako 19 Pro Skiff

This new skiff boat from Mako features a 25-gallon livewell and two coolers — 772 quarts and 85 quarts — plus a forward-console seat with molded-in grab handles.

Pursuit DC 365

Pursuit’s new dual console is one inch shy of 38 feet long; its beam measures 12 feet. The 365 can carry 325 gallons of fuel and 42 gallons of fresh water. It can handle a maximum of 900 horsepower.

Robalo 242EX

This 24-foot boat can hold 150 gallons of fuel, comes with three insulated fish boxes in the bow and two insulated livewells with blue LED lights, a four-speaker stereo system, and more. The display boat was powered by a Yamaha F300 four-stroke.

Scout 355 LXF

Scout’s new 355 LXF, which replaces the 350 LXF, features updated stern seats, a three-person leaning post, center helm and a wider console with an updated cabin. In addition, Scout redesigned space to accommodate an optional Seakeeper 3 gyro. The 34-foot-11-inch center console holds up to 310 gallons of fuel and 23 gallons of fresh water. The display boat featured triple Mercury outboards (max horsepower is 1,050).

Sea Fox 248 Commander

This new center console for 2018 is 24 feet 4 inches long with an 8-foot-6-inch beam. It can hold up to 115 gallons of fuel and features a 30-gallon livewell. Max power is 300.

Yamaha 210 FSH Sport

Yamaha Boats’ new 21-foot jet boat comes with a long list of fishing amenities tailored for hardcore anglers. The boat’s fuel tank can hold up to 50 gallons and the T-top design features four rod holders, plus a cooler beneath the leaning post. There is console storage for rods and other gear, plus a customizable helm station and spacious bow seating. The boat has a maximum weight capacity of 2,250 pounds.

Yellowfin 21 Bay

The new bay boat — with a length of 21 feet, 9 inches — uses Yellowfin’s 21 Hybrid hull design and takes other attributes from the 24 Carbon Elite (CE) model. The 21 Bay features a broad bow casting platform with a forward step, a large aft casting deck with a 35-gallon baitwell and a 50-gallon fuel tank.

Join Sport Fishing magazine editors as we walk through the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center and docks at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center for real-time updates from the 57th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Fort Lauderdale, heralded as the “Yachting Capital of the World,” hosts the annual boat show this year from Nov. 3 through Nov. 7.

Show exhibits range from yacht builders to a wide variety of fishing boats such as sportfishers, center consoles, runabouts, flats boats, and plenty of others. Most boats on display are brand new offerings for the 2016 or 2017 year. All together, the show is spread across eight different locations including the Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center, Fort Lauderdale Hilton Marina, The Sails Marina and Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six.
